Author Guidelines

Before any submission; please, consult the author guidelines below and the tutorial on how to submit a manuscript.

Manuscript Preparation

This journal uses either US English or British English, as the language of publication but not a mixture. All manuscripts should be prepared using Times New Roman in MS Word format (all version after Word 2007) (font size 10 pt., Line Spacing "simple") on A4 paper (leaving a liberal margin in the top: 2.5 cm, low: 2 cm left and right: 2.5 cm on sides).

Only electronic submission of manuscripts is accepted, provided that the text, tables, and figures are included in a single Microsoft Word file.
Tables and Figures may be submitted in separate files.

Cover letter

The cover letter should include the manuscript title, the corresponding author's full institutional address, email address and uploaded as an attachment, with the manuscript.
The corresponding author should clearly state the approval of co-authors for manuscript submission along with any competing interests. It is also strongly advised to declare that work Please declare that the work is original, is not published elsewhere previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
The corresponding author may suggest three available reviewers in addition to those of the journal.

Authors are invited to follow the hereinafter instructions or to directly use our word templates. 

The manuscript should be structured as follows:

Title:(font 16, centred, bold, no capital): Should accurately reflect the contents of the manuscript.

Author names (10, centred, bold) and affiliations (10, centred):

The affiliations are indicated with an Arabic numeral superscript immediately after the full name (first and last name) of the author. The corresponding author is distinguished by an asterisk. The last author is preceded by and.

The rest of the manuscript should be written in (10, justified).

Abstract: The abstract of the manuscript should present the key results and must not exceed 300 words nor contain references.

Keywords: A list of three to six keywords should be given, separated by the semicolon and placed after the abstract.

Introduction: Provide background from the literature necessary to allow readers outside the field to understand the purpose and significance of the study. You may point out worthy disagreements in the field addressed.

Results: Should be clear and concise and discussions should explore the significance of the results of the work. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.

Conclusion: Conclude with a brief note on the actual state of the art and comment your achieved aims if so, explaining the significance and the importance of your concepts.

Acknowledgements: For authors who would like to acknowledge their supports.

Experimental: The experimental section should contain information on materials, methods, analytical instruments used, etc. Provide enough detail to allow skilled investigators to fully replicate your study. Full spectroscopic and characterization data including HRMS and/or elemental analysis (values within 0.4%) must be provided for all new compounds and literature references to these data for known compounds.

References: References cited in the text should be numbered in order of appearance and indicated by superscript Arabic numbers and placed before the punctuation, eg⁶, or⁷. and must be listed at the end of the manuscript. All references should be complete, update, using the Chemical Abstracts style abbreviations.

The bibliography style should be in the appropriate format of the Mediterranean Journal of Chemistry and the authors are deeply invited to use the Zotero bibliographic management software (http://zotero.org).

Unpublished work and the work of theses are not accepted.

For works published online in open access, the DOI should be furnished in addition to the standard bibliographic information with the exact Web address (URL) at the end of the reference.

Supplementary instructions

Graphical abstract

A graphical abstract, submitted in a separate file is required for this journal. It must provide the reader with a summary visual description of the type of chemistry covered in the article. The graphical abstract should not exceed 14 cm in width.

Nomenclature

All compounds should be mentioned by the correct chemical name. The use of the IUPAC nomenclature conventions is recommended.

Characterization of compounds

Complete characterization data must be given for all new compounds. For known compounds, appropriate literature references must be given.

X-ray crystallographic data:

Prior to submission of the manuscript, the authors should deposit the crystallographic data with the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (organic and metal-organic structures) to the address:

Units and abbreviations

Use the fellow standard acronyms and conventions: g, mg, mL, L, M, mp, bp, °C, K, GC, HPLC, IR, NMR, MS, HRMS, UV, mol, mmol, and all other units/ abbreviations used with the SI.

Tables and Figures

Tables and Figures should be embedded in the text. Figures submitted as JPG files should be sufficiently clear in colour. Minimum resolution of 600 dpi is required at 4 x 6 inches.

Figures and Tables are numbered ascendingly upon the first appearance and independently, in the text, starting with (Fig.1) and (Table 1). They must be well-labelled, and described by their legend. Table legends go above the body of the Table while Figure legends go below the graph.

Tables should be created with the function of inserting tables into a Word document. Indicate each footnote in a table with a superscript lowercase letter.

For figures taken from other sources, it is the responsibility of the author to obtain permission from the original author. In this case, provide the Editor with a copy of the written permission.
