Phytochemical study on the constituents from Cirsium arvense
Abstract
Phytochemical investigation on the chloroform soluble fraction of Cirsium arvense resulted in the isolation of five compounds namely Ciryneol C, Scopoletin, Pectolinarigenin-7-O-glucopyranoside, Acacetin and 6, 7-Dimethoxycoumarin. Their structures have been elucidated by EIMS, HREIMS, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopic methods. These compounds have been isolated for the first time from this plant. All the isolated compounds were tested for their antibacterial and antifungal activitiesReferences
